Today we went to the Zilker Park Kite Festival. We braved the crowds, secured a parking spot, and headed off to the park for some serious kite-flying fun. We didn't have a kite but were sure Samuel would enjoy watching all the people running around. We were wrong. He didn't even notice the kites (or the people) until we yelled "Kite! Kite! Samuel, a kite!" He did a half-glance in the general direction of the sky and then went about his business: finding rocks.

Check out the three amigos in the background. Amazing. And, yes, those are rocks in Samuel's hands. He's taking them to Papa, naturally.

Bottom line: kite festivals are best when accompanied by rocks.
