My little Sammy has become quite the Austinite. No, really. He recycles, loves hike and bike trails, and eats local*.
*Exception: Chick-fil-A. Baby craves their chicken constantly and asks at least twice a week for some "heee-kin," which means chicken, nerds.
The top ten reasons Samuel loves Austin:
1. Eating mole chicken tacos at Taco Deli (that's right: my kid eats mole)
2. Going for a stroll around Town Lake (he refers to the activity as "push/wah-wah," because I push him in a stroller, because he gets to see the water, and because it sounds cuter that way)
3. Central Market's park extraordinaire (regardless of The Biting Incident, he still associates all of North Lamar with this park)
4. Two words: Metro buses.
5. That Home Depot at Mueller where he got to push the gigantic cart and wander through the ceiling fan aisle. Never. Been. Happier.
6. Home Slice on Congress (even though he usually tries to attack their low-hanging lamps, I'm pretty sure it's done out of love)
7. That cat across the street.
8. Trash cans and recycling bins: he will throw away your trash, if you ask nicely, and he will only rarely throw away your earrings.
9. Beans. You name the restaurant: he's eaten beans there. Baby loves beans. Baby's current favorite: a tie between Juan in a Million (I love Austin) and Kerbey Lane.
10. Obama! (The nickname Samuel gave our friend Katherine after she introduced him to the President's name and the joys of water conservation...no joke)
Here's my favorite Austinite, enjoying some Iron Works BBQ beans with his Baka and his Ujo Kaleb:
