BDU Visit: Part Two

Saturday afternoon we all drove to Stonewall to see Will's Oma and Opa at their cabin on the Pedernales River. We planned to get there earlier in the afternoon, but a nail in our tire sent us to Walmart for an hour and a half while we waited to have it repaired (not fun). We finally arrived and wished Opa a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Samuel also had a birthday of sorts Saturday; he turned ten months old! Here's a picture of the birthday boys and sweet Oma in the background:

The evening ended with late night coffee for Will, Kaleb, and me at Spiderhouse (quintessential Austin), while Baka and Dida called it a night and stayed home with Samuel. Sunday morning we three headed out for a run (read: jog/fast walk) on the Town Lake hike and bike trail. It was cool, crisp, and altogether refreshing! We brought home coffee from Emerald City Press and the BEST cinnamon rolls, brioche, and cheese scones from Upper Crust. Again, if you're in Austin, you must try their yummy treats! So, because we hadn't eaten enough, we had to squeeze one last meal into our weekend of fun, family, and food. We went to Mandola's for a late lunch. I wasn't joking when I said we ate A LOT this weekend, but it was oh-so-delicious! We had never been to Mandola's before and were so happy we went: the pizza, bruschetta with arugula and goat cheese, gnocchi, and gelato were excellent. We had a great weekend with our family and are now recuperating from all the food and festivities...
