The Week in Review

Well, we had a great week. The highlights: cooking homemade Saag Paneer Tuesday night that actually tasted like something we might want to eat again (recipe courtesy of our favorite Indian restaurant), meeting Oma and Great Aunt Susie for lunch at Mandola's Wednesday afternoon (sorry, no pictures), picnicking with our church at Zilker Park Saturday evening (sorry, again no pictures), and exploring San Antonio on a very hot Sunday afternoon. We had never been there before but definitely enjoyed it! I had the Sopa de Lima, while Will had Las Enchiladas with beef. Bonus: fresh, homemade corn and flour tortillas. Check out the pretty building:

We enjoyed afternoon coffee on the Riverwalk at Starbucks' two story, mammoth coffee shop/Hear Music emporium. The following picture attempts to capture Samuel's expressionless face and odd outward hand thrust (which Will also attempts):

Here we are at the Alamo! We wanted to go inside, but the line was incredibly long and it could not have been hotter outside. So, we settled for a few pictures in front of the Alamo, promising both ourselves and Samuel (who cared mostly about his green straw) that we would return again soon. When it is cooler. Much, much cooler. Here is one of our pictures, and though it looks as if Samuel and I were photoshopped into the photo, we were not:

We walked back to our car, collapsed in exhaustion, and turned the AC on full blast.
