This was a birthday weekend! Both Sammy's Baka and Oma had birthdays, so we went down to Houston to celebrate. Our weekend was packed with presents, family, and cake. Will and I even got a rare date night on Valentine's; BIG thank you to Baka and Dida for keeping Sammy-toot.
(Date night recap: Shanghai River for steamed vegetable dumplings, orange peel chicken, and spicy green beans. We enjoyed every minute of it, especially the not having to ask for a high chair part. Dessert at Crescent City: beignets! You really can't beat beignets, people. We wanted to catch a movie, but all movies currently at the theatre seem to fall into two categories: (1) mind-numbingly stupid or (2) end-your-life depressing. The exception, of course, being Slumdog Millionaire, which we'd already seen. Side note: go see this movie. So, we ended up at Agora for some late night tea: a little better than watching the goings-on of a hotel for dogs (bleh) or the unraveling of a marriage, no matter how much Leo DiCaprio.)
