Beach Weekend!

Here are some pictures from our weekend with Heath in Rockport (Corpus Christi area). We drove down Saturday morning and saw Heath's store (he's the manager of a little coffee shop called Starbucks). It was great looking: lovely windows overlooking the water. We ate burgers and chicken fried steak at Moondog's (right on the water) and then headed to the beach: Samuel's first encounter with the Texas coast! He wasn't thrilled with the sand at first but finally came around to its charms. He loved the water and waves (as long as he could hold on tightly to Papa). We had a nice weekend: restful and enjoyable.

Samuel, not so sure about the sand:

"I love the waves as much as I love eating my fingers!"

Heath took us to see the Goose Island Live Oak, an amazing tree estimated to be over 1,000 years old! It was beautiful, and the picture cannot even begin to capture its grandeur:
