Birthday Boy!

Today was Samuel's first birthday! Our baby is growing up way too fast. We had a wonderful day, filled with all of Sammy's favorite things: cinnamon sugar toast for breakfast, a walk around the block in which Mama and Sammy greeted the UPS truck, three dogs, and the Recycling crew, banana smoothies, a THREE HOUR NAP, playing with gravel at the park (the slides were not nearly as exciting), making oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with Mama, squealing at the sight of Papa at 5 pm, eating "cheeken" at Kerbey Lane, browsing the ceiling fan section at Home Depot (Samuel was in raptures), opening MORE presents, figuring out his new Little People Racin' Ramps Garage, and playing "tent" with Papa (holding the bed sheet over his head...it's the cheapest, best, most exciting game EVER).
