Happy Easter! (Part One)

Happy Easter! We had a lovely weekend with the family in good ole Houston.

Saturday we went to the zoo, and despite it being nap time, Samuel did really well and seemed to moderately enjoy himself. The petting zoo was the best part. Sammy thought the goats had rocks on their heads (where they had been dehorned and only horn stubs remained) and repeatedly tried to place rocks on their heads, backs, and feet. The goats generally tolerated the attention; only a few times did one or two of them get up and jog quickly to the "No Humans Past This Point" area. I love this picture. Samuel is attempting to attack the goat, and I'm pretty sure the goat is sleeping through it all:

Saturday afternoon we had an Easter egg hunt at my parents' house. Samuel liked the idea of the egg hunt but was, all in all, a poor participant. He pretty much had to be forced into finding the eggs. He would find one, open it, eat the Frito inside (baby LOVES Fritos), and then wander off toward the wagon, the garden, a rock, a twig, etc. After "finding" about ten of the eggs, he started very loudly asking for "wah-wah," Samuel-speak for water. The poor kid was thirsty after ingesting his weight in sodium. Fun times:

Easter Sunday we went to church with the family and then came home for pictures and food, food, food. We got to relax and visit with Ami and Sammy's great aunts and great uncles. Also: there was carrot cake. Delicious! Here's Samuel, giving me a cheesy grin in his Easter outfit (thanks, Oma and Opa!):
